Our
Responsibility

It's in our [DNA]
We know that the challenge of becoming more sustainable in our industry and our practice is COMPLEX.
We have identified our greatest areas of influence as material life cycle, transport logistics, catering & education.

Our processes are there to build awareness, and a culture of responsibility within our DNA. Together we can continue to create beautiful work which is better for the environment and our community. We also recognise that true responsibility is, not only inclusive of our planet’s needs, but of all people’s.

Therefore we endeavour to make our events inclusive by design with considerations for age, ethnicity, ability, neurominorities, gender identity, education or personality. Our aim is that as many people as possible can experience and enjoy our events.

Inclusivity

We believe events have a responsibility to be inclusive to all. Example aspects we consider and advise on include:

SUPPLIERS + SMBs
Plus Icon

Supporting and promoting diverse, inclusive, small and medium sized businesses, choosing local SMB's and avoiding mass made production. Women owned, LGBTQ+, Veterans, Black Owned Businesses, Minority Owned Businesses; we ensure they all have a seat at the table.

DIVERSE SPEAKERS
Plus Icon

Alongside making your audience feel included and welcomed, a diverse lineup will contribute to richer conversations, wider experience and different perspectives. A diverse focus group also helps ensure your marketing materials are evaluated through an inclusive lens.

DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY
Plus Icon

How you publicise your event is important. Does the imagery represent diversity? Have you considered larger buttons for accessibility and provided a clear UX journey for guests to easily navigate? Have blind or visually impaired guests been catered for? These are questions we will ask you, and ourselves.

DIVERSITY TARGETS + MEASURING
Plus Icon

Post-event surveys help include the audience. Be open to honest feedback from attendees, asking them whether they felt included and what can be improved in your future events.

ACCESSIBILITY
Plus Icon

Wheelchair accessibility, service animals, hearing loops, car parking space, all of this should be considered. Is sign language needed, or translation options? Ideally attendees must have the opportunity to share any needs pre-event. It’s all in the details to ensure an inclusive event.

NEURODIVERSITY CONSIDERATIONS
Plus Icon

With 10-15% of the population neurodivergent aspects can be put in place to insure everyone’s experience is positive. Aspects from clear invite comms with maps and detail, through to creating a quiet zone and provide sensory kits such as fidget toys and noise cancelling headphones, are just some of the many aspects which can be applied to event planning.

B Corp
Certified

Being a B Corp since 2023...
Signifies that We Are Family London has met rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This certification was granted by B Lab, a non-profit organisation that evaluates companies based on their impact on various stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment.

The process involves completing the B Impact Assessment (BIA), which measures practices in governance, community engagement, worker treatment, environmental stewardship, and customer relations. A company must score at least 80 out of 100 points to achieve certification. We Are Family London scored 88.6.

Being a B Corp combined with being women-owned in the events industry means operating with a dual focus on ethical responsibility towards all stakeholders while fostering an inclusive environment that empowers women both within the company and throughout the broader community.

ISO
Certified

iso 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard that outlines the requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS).

The primary aim of ISO 14001 is to help companies improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste. The standard provides a framework that companies can follow to set up an EMS, which includes planning, implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement.

We Are Family London has been ISO 14001 certified since 2022, being ISO 14001 certified signifies a commitment to minimising environmental impact while conducting our events.

This certification demonstrates that we have implemented a systematic approach to managing our environmental responsibilities effectively while enhancing operational efficiency and stakeholder trust.

ISO 27001

ISO 27001 certification is an internationally recognised standard that outlines the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS).

This certification is particularly significant in the events industry, where companies handle vast amounts of sensitive data related to clients, attendees, and stakeholders. Achieving this certification demonstrates a commitment to protecting this information from unauthorised access, breaches, and other security threats.

We Are Family London has been ISO 27001 certified since 2021. We often manage personal information such as names, contact details, payment information, and even sensitive corporate data. The nature of our events, whether they are conferences, trade shows, or virtual gatherings, requires robust data management practices to ensure that all participant information is secure.

With increasing incidents of cyberattacks targeting companies across various sectors, having ISO 27001 certification assures our clients and our partners that their data is being handled with the utmost care.
